GYCC Trains 30 Youth & Women on Biz Communication & Digital Mkt

GYCC in Partnership the IFAD funded ROOTS RPFS PPROJECT IN GAMBIA, TRAINS YOUTH AND WOMEN BUSINESSES ON BUSINESS COMMUICATION AND DIGITAL MARKETING IN March, 2022

Now days, starting a business without a proper digital marketing strategy are a very high risk. This is because digital marketing today has to be at the center of any marketing strategy for any business whatever its size. If you are in the initial stages of starting a business you probably have a tight budget. You therefore need a proper plan if your startup is going to grow as fast as it should.

One of the main reasons why startups fail is because they do not have a proper digital marketing plan. You could have a great product that everybody wants to buy, but if you do not have a proper plan on how to get people to know about your product, few people will buy it. According to CB Insights, as many as 17% of startups that fail can trace their failure to poor marketing. Most startups in The Gambia are faced with challenges of being online and I most cases in because they lack the knowledge and skills to digitally operate their businesses.

As a result of all these issues mentioned,  GYCC with support from the he Resilience of Organizations for Transformative Smallholder Agriculture Project (ROOTS) conducted a three (3) days training on Business Communication and Digital Marketing for entrepreneurs along the agricultural value chain in The Gambia. The training equipped the beneficiaries with knowledge and skills that will not only enable them to market their products and services both physical and online but will also enable them to protect themselves and their business for CYBER BULLYING AND ABUSES while doing business online.

The training brought together 30 youth and women entrepreneurs in Agricultural Value Chain in all the regions across the country. During the Three (3) days intensive training, participants were taken through Business Communication, Product Branding, Digital Marketing, Cyber Security and the use of various Social Media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and WhatsApp Business etc. to market their products even the presence of COVID19 pandemic

The Participants will now also go through a one month Business Coaching Program and as supported with funded up to $1000 as a COVID19 relief funds to help them recovered quickly and re-invest in their different initiatives
